Dr. Barrie Barber Choate launched her own private practice in 2011 out of a desire to create a more personalized patient experience where both children and parents feel heard and cared for by a team of exceptional, empathetic staff. “My vision is to remain true to what I have always believed: to treat all people the way I would want to be treated . . . the way I would want my own children to be treated.”
Dr. Choate’s pediatric dental experience runs as deep as her Texas roots. Even as a young child, she was always interested in working with children. By the time she was in high school, her goal was to become a children’s dentist. In pursuit of her dream, Dr. Choate earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1984 and went on to complete her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. In 1987, she also completed her post-doctoral master’s degree in dentistry. Dr. Choate spent several years teaching dental students after she completed her training.
Dr. Choate proudly hails from “Big D,” where she and her husband, Tom, a Dallas endodontist, have raised two sons and a daughter. Together, they relish spending time with family, traveling, and being entertained by their cat and French bulldogs.
“I am fortunate to be able to do what I wanted to do my entire life. Working with my patients and my staff each day is definitely the most rewarding part of my job. The children are my motivation and excitement; they are the future!”
